Iliniza North

5162m. - (17,034 ft.)


1-2 Day Journey:

Iliniza North, at 5161 m (17,034 ft), is consider the most accessible

five thousand meter peak in Ecuador. This mountain boasts as having the most

stable weather and perfect terrain conditions year round. Iliniza North has some

fresh snow, especially during the wet season from November to May. Climbers will find an achievable but moderately challenging experiences with class 3 terrain on this peak.

ILINIZA SOUTH 5262m. - (17,364 ft.)


2-3 Day Journey

Iliniza south 5.262 m (17.364 ft) is a pyramidal shaped peak

and considered one of the most technical mountains in the occidental

Ecuadorian range. Although it has an easy access to its refuge at 4,700 m (15,510 ft), the mountain itself offers some really nice short, but challenging, climbs. A high-level of previous experience is not required. However, some crampon and snow and ice techniques would be necessary before trying to summit this peak.


ANTISANA

5740m. - 18,827 ft.


2-3 Day Journey

Antisana, at 5740 m (18,827 ft), is the fourth highest peak and most remote volcano in Ecuador. There is a beautiful camp site at 4.600 m (15,180 ft) where a colorful sunset at the base of this majestic mountain can be enjoyed. This volcano has one of the most crevassed glaciers in Ecuador and offer a nice and challenging climbs for beginners, intermediate, and advanced climbers.


Hike and climb a snow-capped volcano close to the lush Ecuadorian jungle and get to discover a rugged landscape that joins the great Andean Ecuadorian range and the tropical area that rises from the Amazon and reaches the highlands of the Andes. This mountain offers multiple routes to accommodate a variety of climber abilities.


CAYAMBE

5790m. - (18,996ft)


2-3 Day Journey

Cayambe at 5790 m (18,996 ft) This particular name comes from “cayambis,” an ancestral tribe that used to live in this zone. At the third highest volcano in Ecuador, Cayambe offers a multiple

routes for beginner to experienced climbers. A large and comfortable refuge is just at half an hour from the glacier.


This volcano is particularly well-suited for learning glacier travel and snow and ice skills, allowing climbers to take their first steps into alpine mountaineering, as well as for climbers looking to learn more advanced climbing techniques.


CHIMBORAZO

6310m. – 20,702 ft


1-3 Day Journey

Chimborazo 6310 m (20,702 ft), is the highest peak in Ecuador and the highest peak in the world as measured from the center of the earth.


Because its length, steepness, and elevation, climbers find Chimborazo very physically demanding, making it one of the toughest climbs in Ecuador. We highly recommend this mountain for anyone who wants to broaden their climbing experience and are looking to train to climb challenging mountains such as Aconcagua or any of the 8,000ers peaks in the Himalayas.


This is a massive and challenging mountain. You will have a great experience with a mixed rock and ice terrain. Prior experience with crampons and ice axe will allow you to make the most of this serious high-altitude peak and to climb one of the most impressive mountains in the world at the equator.


El Altar

5320m. - 17,556 ft.


4-6 Day Journey

El Altar at 5320 m (17,556 ft) offers a very challenging climb. Due to its technical routes and remoteness,


El Altar is considered the most difficult and challenging mountain technique-wise in Ecuador. Previous mountaineering experience would be appreciated for climbing this beautiful multi peaked stratus volcano.


The mountain is a beautiful multi-peaked stratus volcano with a variety of routes to choose beyond the normal route. There are some routes with four technical pitches and others with more challenging, exposed pitches. As the most technical mountain in Ecuador, it is a great opportunity for those climbers who want to gain more experience in mixed rock and ice terrain.
